ZeCook - Frequently Asked Questions

• What is ZeCook ?
  • ZeCook is a site for submitting and sharing your favorite recipes. The recipes can be uploaded with plain text, photos and/or videos. You can rate, view or save as your favorite any of the recipes. You can also create menus out of recipes.
• Why are some users appointed "ZeChef"? How do I become one?
  • The "ZeChef" title is given to users who submit multiple quality recipes. While at the moment the titles are assigned by the site editors, in the future the appointment will be automatic based on some predefined standards (for example, at least five recipes with at least 10 ratings and rating average of at least 4 for each recipe).
• How do I edit an existing recipe?
  • You can only edit a recipe you submitted. To edit a recipe click on 'edit' next to the recipe title on recipe details page. Or click on "My ZeCook" link on top of page, then on "My Submitted", and then click on "Edit" link next to to the recipe you want to edit.
• My recipe would make a perfect combination with a few other recipes. Is there a way to group them together?
  • Yes! While content of each recipe is controlled by the submitter of the recipe, you can build menus out of your own and other people's recipes. Click on any recipe you would like in a menu and then click "add to my menus!" link next to the title. You will be able to then create a new menu with this recipe or add it any of your previously created menus. You can also edit all of your menus (change title, description, order of recipes in a menu, delete recipe from menu) by going to MyZeCook link and clicking on My Menus.
• How do I remove (deactivate) an existing recipe?
  • You can only remove a recipe you submitted. To remove a recipe click on "My ZeCook" link on top of page, then on "My Submitted", and then click on "Remove" link next to to the recipe you want to remove. To activate a removed recipe click on "Activate" next to the recipe in the list of submitted recipes.
• There is already a recipe with the same name submitted by somebody else. Can I still submit a recipe with the same name?
  • Yes! This site is based on 'total democracy' where everyone can submit a recipe for the same dish. We cherish the originality and twists that each cook can bring to the table. As long as it is your own original recipe you can add it regardless of whether someone else might have submitted a similar recipe. But you cannot have two of your own recipes submitted with the same name.
• How do I get one of your cool "I am ZeCook!" aprons for free?
  • It is easy. If you submit a certain number of recipes we will send you an apron completely free. Please see Free 'I am ZeCook!' Apron for details.
